THE ORNATE STUDIO OPENS IN PARK SLOPE:

A CREATIVE SPACE BORN FROM 15 YEARS OF COLLABORATION

Brooklyn, NY – March 5, 2025 – After 15 years of crafting unforgettable events, Gene and Borali, the duo behind The Ornate Project, are thrilled to announce the opening of The Ornate Studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

This 4,400-square-foot duplex loft is more than just an event space—it’s a creative playground designed to showcase the incredible talent they’ve worked with over the years while paving the way for future collaborations. Gene and Borali’s partnership began with small afterhours gatherings that evolved into producing large-scale events featuring world-renowned artists and DJs. From intimate pop-ups to 3,000-person productions, their journey has been defined by a shared vision of creating immersive experiences. Over the years, The Ornate Project has grown into a trusted name in event production, hosting events with legendary artists such as Seth Troxler, Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, Kerri Chandler, Hernán Cattáneo, Len Faki, Chris Liebing, Sven Väth, and David Morales. Their sub-brand, STAX, has further elevated their reputation through collaborations with iconic figures like Danny Tenaglia.

Gene started his career as a promoter at Club Pacha New York under the mentorship of nightlife icon Rob Fernandez, later expanding to hospitality and artist booking roles at iconic venues like Cielo, Output, and Brooklyn Mirage. Borali began DJing at just 15 years old, growing up immersed in New York’s vibrant club culture since the mid-90s. From organizing his own events to playing at legendary venues like Shelter, Pacha, Cielo, and Stereo Montreal. Together, Gene and Borali have built The Ornate Project into a platform that blends emerging talent with industry icons.

“The Ornate Studio is more than just an event space—it’s the next step in our mission to create unforgettable moments,” said Gene. “We wanted to build a space where creativity thrives and where local and international communities can come together.” Borali added, “Having our own space gives us the flexibility to push boundaries while celebrating the amazing people we’ve worked with and exploring new creative possibilities.”

The newest additions to The Ornate Family bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the team. Corvino, a seasoned DJ, producer, promotional director, and operations manager, has been shaping nightlife culture since he began promoting at 14. With expertise in event operations and marketing, his passion for techno and event curation will enhance The Ornate Project’s ability to deliver immersive experiences. Christine E. Banks, with over 15 years of experience in producing large-scale events and brand activations, brings her strategic planning and leadership skills honed through projects like the Shades of Autumn Festival and Deep Playa Decompression Festival. Her expertise in logistics and marketing will elevate The Ornate Studio’s productions. Jake Ntellas, a Park Slope native and at just 25 is the founder of Last Stop Management and 4UH.NYC, contributes his artist development acumen and commitment to uplifting local talent. Together, these dynamic individuals will help shape The Ornate Studio into a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.

WHAT SETS THE ORNATE STUDIO APART?

In contrast to large-scale venues like Teksupport, Brooklyn Mirage/Avant Gardner, Knockdown Center, and underground spaces such as Basement, Nowadays, Resolute events or warehouse raves—The Ornate Studio offers something entirely unique to New York. It is envisioned as an upscale boutique loft open to the community for intimate gatherings and creative productions. While larger venues focus on mass audiences or underground exclusivity, The Ornate Studio fosters a welcoming environment for elevated yet approachable events that highlight artistry and collaboration. The Ornate Studio draws inspiration from David Mancuso’s legendary Loft parties and the incredibly special events hosted by Danny Tenaglia. Mancuso’s “Love Saves the Day” gatherings created a transformative experience in a living room-style setting, where music and connection were prioritized over commercial nightclub norms. Similarly, Danny Tenaglia’s events exemplified the magic of intimate spaces paired with world-class sound systems. The spirit of these iconic moments lives on at The Ornate Studio, which features a cutting-edge Pioneer Pro Audio XY Series sound system inspired by Gary Stewart’s designs. This combination of high-fidelity audio and a cozy, community-focused atmosphere ensures that every event feels personal, immersive, and unforgettable.

EXPANDING CREATIVE HORIZONS

Beyond its role as a venue for boutique events, The Ornate Studio will also serve as a versatile hub for photo and video production, corporate events, and brand activations. Additionally, it will host live streams, podcasts, and a variety of programs across music, comedy, and educational content. This multifaceted approach allows The Ornate Studio to cater to a wide range of creative needs, providing a professional and engaging environment for both local and international talent. Whether it’s capturing stunning visuals, hosting interactive workshops, or broadcasting live content, The Ornate Studio is poised to become a central hub for creativity and innovation in Brooklyn.

Stay tuned for upcoming events at The Ornate Studio as it becomes Brooklyn’s newest hub for culture, creativity, and

connection.
